LAYERS
All the different layered vital patches, played one by one,
showing how I decomposed the structure of the gun
I made some sci-fi raw materials, using only Vital & Whoosh by Tonsturm as sound source, and then built a small UCS compliant sci-fi soundbank as a base material for some futuristic sound design. Here is a result of what I achieved by tweaking these materials with additional FX chains.
3 main layers
Sound material I used on Mimic Hunt
Recorded with Neumann TLM 107. Derushing included editing and noise reduction.

Sound design exercice : Tell a story by sound, inspired by a picture.
First, I wrote the script inspired by the art, then I started the sound editing.
"It's raining, and the place is echoing.
We hear light rain, and the character is climbing stairs. He ascends slowly because he has been on this path for a long time and is tired. In addition to the sound of footsteps, we hear his metal lamp swinging slightly and squeaking.
Suddenly, we hear rocks falling in the distance.
The character stops, makes a movement to shine light around him, then silence. We hear a distant monstrous scream (rather high-pitched, it's a small, stealthy creature).
The character flusters, trying to determine where the sound is coming from, remaining static. We hear other creatures; he is not alone; he is surrounded.
We hear his breathing; he begins to get worried and starts to flee. The monsters' noises grow louder; they are getting closer.
The character falls, his lamp breaks.
The monster slowly approaches him, knowing the character can no longer escape. It reveals itself in front of him, screams, and there the story stops: suspense."
